last night i watched a 60 minute documentary on the life and work of malick sidibe. in case you didn’t know, i have a few favorites that reign supreme in my book, and he is one of them. made in 2007, the film presents the carefree nature of the 1950’s - 1970’s when Mali gained its independence. sidibe’s studio is quaint. full of cameras, lights, negatives and prints. he has...
